Frequently Asked Questions

What are Ecosphere Organics' sheet materials made from?
Our sheets are made from upcycled organic waste streams like coffee grounds, citrus peels, banana fibers, and other plant-based byproducts. Each material is designed to highlight the natural texture, color, and composition of its source ingredients.

What does “semi-finished” sheet mean?
“Semi-finished” means our sheets are not coated, sealed, or chemically finished,  they are raw-form materials pressed into usable panels. This allows maximum flexibility for downstream use such as cutting, dyeing, forming, or coating based on your needs.

Are your sheets compostable or biodegradable?
Yes, all sheets are made from organic, non-toxic ingredients and are compostable.

Can I customize the texture, thickness, or color?
Absolutely. Custom orders can be produced to meet specifications including thickness, particle size, color additives (natural pigments), and surface texture. Please contact us for minimums and lead time.

How do I order samples or full-size sheets?
You can request a sample kit by contacting our team directly. For full-size or custom sheet orders, please inquire for pricing, availability, and MOQs.

Can these sheets be laser cut or molded?
Yes. Depending on the material type and thickness, many of our sheets can be laser cut, CNC-routed, thermoformed, or die cut. While several sheets are still in the prototyping stage, we’re happy to recommend specific sheets based on your intended application.

What if I want to use your materials but don’t have a designer or manufacturer?
That’s okay. Many of our partners start at the idea stage. For products we don’t manufacture in-house, we work with a growing network of designers, manufacturers, and fabricators who have experience using our materials and can help translate your concept into a finished product. Depending on your goals, we can make introductions or help you explore next steps that align with your timeline and production needs.
